Brian Simo and the Tommy Bahama crew move on to Detroit, and the Johnson
Controls 100 at the Tenneco Automotive Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle.
They will be a mounting a two-car effort there, joined there by Bruce
Qvale, president of the Huffaker/Qvale Motorsports Group, and runner-up
in the 1998 Rookie of the Year battle. Qvale will be driving an all-new
Mangusta chassis, developed by Huffaker Engineering of Sonoma, Calif.
More chassis are also in the works. The race in Detroit, fifth of a
scheduled 11, is slated for Saturday afternoon, June 17.
