My understanding is that the gills and their mounting points are different
from Ls and pre-Ls as the fenders they mount to are also different.

PPC in Colorado showed what I thought was a very slick and handsome solution
where they added a lockable motorcycle flip type gas cap to a pre-L gill.

I'm considering having it done to my pre-L as a previous owner hacked an
ugly gas cap onto the gill with a hole saw.
