Subject:Rear Bearings

Hello,

I am trying to redo my rear bearings on my 71 and
bought the 30010 bearing ( I think thats the right #)
But I had one of my uprights machined for the bearing
and it seems that the front bearing is too big and
hits the front of the axle. If I machine the rest of
the backing out that seats the front bearing, then it
will of course will fail and fall into the middle of
the upright. I understand their is a ring of some type
that a groove is machined into the upright but I
believe that is for the back bearing. What is
supposed to happen with the front bearing? Does
anyone have any information on this setup? Or do you
know anyone who could help me. I really appreciate
anything you could do, Thanks

Eric
