Yes. I believe what is occurring is that some 'motor' (fans ?) is running
when you shut off the beast. The ignition is not isolated from the system,
and what little electricity is created by a spinning motor (generator) is
being
fed back into the ignition system. I suspect the 'new' regulator
temporarily
solved the problem, via dumb luck...i.e. your fans were off !
There was a simple fix mentioned to this ghost problem a while ago.
I believe just isolate (with diodes ?) your fan circuit. Just a guess from
my
memory.
