Owen,

The "Supercars" Internet site was recently brought to
my attention and I must compliment you on a terrific
virtual publication. The graphics, content and
library of vehicles are very impressive.

However, you are missing one of the most popular and
exciting Supercars to ever stalk the world's byways.

What is that car? The DeTomaso Pantera.

De Tomaso Panteras are mid-engined exotic cars that
were produced in Italy and imported to the United
States by Ford Motor Company from 1971-75. The
stunning car is a combination of elegant Italian
styling and powerful American V8. The body's sleek
steel body cloaks a potent Ford 351 Cleveland motor,
fully independent suspension and ZF transaxle.

Panteras offer sexy looks, shattering performance and
yet are considered one of the most affordable exotics
ever offered. You only have to attend amateur track
events across the country to see Panteras passing many
other Supercars on your list at a blistering pace.
Panteras regularly compete in open road racing, such
as the Silver State Challenge, hill climbs, vintage
racing and open track events. In addition, the
limited production cars often pop up at prestigious
shows ranging from the famous Pebble Beach Concours to
the La Bella Machina in the Poconos.

In 1973 a group of enthusiastic DeTomaso Pantera and
Mangusta owners began to hold regular meetings at
Peyton Lincoln-Mercury in Long Beach, California.
>From this small conclave of automobile owners emerged
the Pantera Owners Club of America. Over the years,
the POCA organization solidified and its membership
began its steady expansion including 15 chapters
across the United States. The Pantera Owners Club of
America is officially recognized by DeTomaso
Automobili, S.p.A., Modena, Italy.

POCA is dedicated to the history, maintenance,
restoration and preservation of all DeTomaso
automobiles. Members thrive on activity and the
Club, with its many local chapters, provides a wide
range of activities including speed events, social
events, regular meetings, rallies, Concours d'
Elegance and an annual convention. POCA also
disseminates technical information about DeTomaso
automobiles through the publication of a monthly
newsletter and a four-color quarterly magazine.
Additional information about POCA and Panteras is
available at the club's Internet site
(http://www.panteraclub.com).

POCA can provide a tremendous amount of information
and even help pen a description with graphics for
inclusion on your site. We might even be able to
provide a link to your site. Please consider adding
one of the greatest Supercars of our time to
Supercars.net.

Sincerely,

Scott Black
