Al might be away from his email today so here you go
Mad Dog and any other that might want to attend...

Hi, gang,
To answer the many requests that I've had on a route to the Marconi
for this Saturday's event, see the following directions, thanks to the
Carbabe: (also see attached local map).
Yahoo.com/maps is a good source if you need explicit details.

* Directions from the 405 Freeway:
405 frwy. to the 55 frwy north.
Exit at Edinger - then go right at
Redhill - then turn right onto
Industrial Ave. - turn right (1st signal after
Redhill/Edinger intersection);
the Marconi is at the end of the street at 1302, and good parking is
usually available.

* WHERE:  The address:
The Marconi Automotive Museum
   1302 Industrial Drive
    Tustin, CA 92780
     (714) 258-3001

* WHEN: this Saturday, 8/5/2000, 10:30 AM until everyone is tired.
Tom will do a presentation after food is served, and then free samples
of the new 3M Corporation products (as discussed) will be given away.
Try them out on your car, and feel free to ask Tom any specific
questions.
And at some point, browse thru the Museum and see if you can find
anything you like :-)

* WHAT: For those of you who missed the initial announcement, the Detail
Day is a free club event.
The intent is to provide info on the latest, state of the art
materials
and techniques for taking care of your car's paint, and is presented by
Tom Horvath, who does only show/ concours level work at his Anaheim, CA
facility.
There will be professional detailers in the audience who are learning
this material, too.
His websites are: http://www.tomscustomautobody.com/
                                              and
http://www.abcpropromo.com

The Marconi Museum is worth the trip even if you don't have any
interest in the presentation, as it is a private facility not usually
open to the public. Fantastic display of unusual autos, including a $10
million Ferrari FX. If you get lost, you can phone them at (714)
258-3001 for directions.
The price of admission to the Marconi Museum is a $5.00 donation to
the Marconi Foundation or one toy, which the Foundation will save for
their Christmas toy drive.

Some of the cars on display include:

A vintage red 195 S Ferrari (the 53rd car hand built by Enzo
Ferrari).
     A 1994 Ferrari F-40
Not one but two 1995 Ferrari F-50s
     A 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing
A 1993 Lola T-9300 Indy Car (driven by Mario Andretti in his last
professional race).
A 1995 FW17-04 Damon Hill Formula One Race Car

The 70 cars in the museum can be easily viewed in 90 minutes or less.

* MISC: Please RSVP so we don't run out of food. You can call Sandy at
714/533-0802, or just email her at
abcpromo@earthlink.net
I've endeavored to get a good cross section of local car clubs there.
If you have a club badge with your name, wear it. If you have a trick
car, bring it!
Jay Leno has been invited, and also the event may be filmed for the
automotive TV show that Tom
is involved with.
Sorry if you may have inadvertently gotten more than one copy of this
file; but, also you know that
someone was inadverdently left out. So, spread the word.

Enjoy.
Al Chelini.
