Paul,

I like to preoil mine on the engine stand when doing it in the car is not
possible. Otherwise, a simple speed handle on an extension/proper socket
etc (SECURELY TAPED TOGETHER..... don't ask...) and crank away.... one way
it blows bubbles in the oil pan... bloop bloop bloop... the other way, well
you get it... and it become difficult to turn....

You can hear the air escaping the lifters etc... a couple minutes of that
and you have enuf oil for starting and sitting until you start it.

I wouldn't make a big deal of it, unless nothing was oiled (bad boy!!) to
begin with... but your pistons should have been oiled, crank should have
moly lube (and oil cocktail...) as well as the cam etc...

Even if you only throw in two quarts and pump it around, that should be
plenty to start with, remove the filter, install adaptor, install motor in
car.... Unless you leave it sit for a year, you should be fine....

Once you pour in oil, it will get around.... dump it in the distributor
hole to take care of the valley and cam pieces... timing chain should have
gotten a shot of oil before you put the oil pan on...

Once the oil filter fills up, you should have oil everywhere else in a
matter of seconds. So, it doesn't take too much elsewhere....
my $.03
Steve
