I sent my stock '72 seats to MIke Cook for reupholstery. Mike trashes all the
padding and covers, then alters the seat frame for more 'drop', re-pads to
slightly different contour and recovers the whole thing in leather. Mine was
$300 a seat including shipping. Of course being stock, they fit. I'm 6'2" and
I gained 1" of headroom. My 5'4" wife also has no trouble getting comfortable
for those 10-hour drives. By slotting the rear hold-down tabs, stock seats
actually recline a bit. The new padding is more comfortable, too. To make any
rt seat go back is difficult or expensive (depending on who does the job) but
it can be done. Good luck- J Deryke
