(Open chambered v. closed chambered heads).

To follow up with Tom (aka Racerdude), I'd like to know what
advantages/disadvantages I can get by retaining my old (but so far,
good) open chambered heads from my stock 351C (that's 4V).

I plan to stroke sometime in the future but heard varying comments. This
is my reason for keeping the o/c heads: I got 'em already. Probably the
who lot of you has at least pair of them but they lie dormant,
unwanted, and ashamedly taking up some obscure place at the back of a
bunch of used tires or other forgotten Detomaso junk...gad, this is
sad.....

(Sniff....), o.k. Well, what are the critical advantages? I'm thinking
about 10.5:1 comp ratio or less and using the usual head prep treatment
(hardened seats, etc), 393 stroker.

Let me know. This is a long range project for #2428.

Cal.
