Hello all, a question for you Panterophiles and trivia buffs.
I have acquired a four page brochure for the Pantera that looks
different to all the others I have seen.
It was produced by Ford, printed in the US and was: Form No. LM71-108
(presumably Lincoln Mercury from 71).
The cover shows the ubiquitous yellow pushbutton car, this time a
front view against what looks like the Trevi Fountain in Rome. The
center spread is a side view of this car in the same place.
Now the bit I have the question about. The back cover shows the
interior of another car. It is a Pre-L style dash with the production
seats (not the tricky ergonomic foam ones), but it has an unusual
steering wheel.
Instead of the usual cheesy plastic centered wheel it has a wheel
with two silver metal spokes with a hole in each, six black bolt
heads attaching it to the column and a Ghia logo in the center.
What is/was this wheel? And did it ever really exist? And where can
you get one?
Regards
Geoffrey
