Nolan,
Deloreans are technically interesting, and fairly well-built apparently.
They are also dog-slow and don't handle particularly well, due to front/rear
weight distribution problems that are something like 30/70?
You'll get 180 hp on a good day, according to the period advertising.
Personally, I doubt it.
Renault gearbox. Questions? :>)
Body should be immortal, assuming nobody runs into it. Once they do, how do
you fix it? You see painted Deloreans every now and then--those are cars
that got smashed up, couldn't be fixed neatly and had to be fixed with
"conventional" means (i.e. bondo and paint.)
As long as you view the Delorean as an alternative to a Honda Civic for daily
driving to the store, then yes, I suppose it's reasonable. But if you're
viewing it as a performance car, then forget it--you'd be better off
hot-rodding your Civic! :>)
