| Subject: | Labor Day at TWS (Hottr than hll) |

Well the good news is that the GT5 was ready and able for every run session
at TWS this last Labor Day. The bad news is that it was about 107 degrees,
air temp. It was way too hot for any kind of comfort. I measured with my
new Raytek 113 on the asphault in the shade and 138 in the sun. After my
best run session I measured about 197 on the back of the heads.
The Porsche people were a little grumpy and don't seem to trust Pantera
drivers to be able to get around the track consistently on their own. I
wonder why that is? They were very suprised that I was able to run all
weekend in the heat. I met a guy from Houston with a red 2000 Mustang Cobra
R who was running very well. We were the only Ford powered cars there and
were somewhat treated as outcasts. There were several who treated us quite
well though.
I had the Hoosiers on for the event and they stick like glue. The digital
photo guys were there and got the Pantera in some high G turn shots. At 38
psi, the 275/50/15s on the back had some serious sidewall deflection.
It would have been a great weekend if some other Panteras had been there and
it had been about 85 degrees. At 107 it was kind of an ordeal but it was
wure fun to finally get the car on the track.
More later,
