Tom,

You are correct sir, on the -CA being 4 bolt, sitting in your garage.

However, I'd bet you a set of 4-bolt caps, that I could find ya some -CA's
that are only machined for 2-bolt caps....

What I said, was that the -CA could be machined either way!  THis block has
the extra "beef" in the main web area where the second set of bolts would go.

Ford did a cost reduction in the foundary.... cast one block, machine it
two different ways!!!  SO, the actual casting number remains the same, but
the PARTNUMBER that you would see in the books would differ, as would the
engineering number.

Ya gotta keep in mind that FORD has THREE different numbering systems!
Engineering
Part number (partsbook # at dealership)
Casting (or physical markings)

This is why fourbolt blocks have never really been worth a whole lot....
but the caps can be close to half the value!  The only way a four bolt
block is worth a whole bunch, is if it has the screw in freeze plugs and a
D1ZX crank sittin in it....
