One wire connects to the positive coil side and the other to the negative
coil side with the tach wire. I do not believe it matters which, but feel
free to reverse.

The white wire is for triggering with a breaker points distributor or when
using the output of an electronic amplifier

A diagram for '73s & 74s is in the Technical service bulletin #8 pages 3 &
4. I do not know if GT%s are the same.

Do not remove the ball joint!! You risk damaging it or the cover. Just
remove the 2 bolts connecting the upper arms to the chassis. The whole unit
will roll outward.
