< Uhhh... Yeah. But I can't get the front upper A-arm bolt out! Typical of my
experience working on any car. Nothing ever is easy... I've used a whole can
of Liquid Wrench trying to get it to loosen up. I can twist it, but then if I
keep going, I'll just ruin the rubber
bushing. The inner part of the bushing is frozen to the bolt. And I've been
beating on it with a sledge hammer!...>
Do you really care? Replacing the rubber bushings in the a-arms is normally
the first thing a Pantera owner does, and the bushings must be destroyed in
order to remove them. I'd suggest replacing the bolt, too since it has rust
damage which will weaken it. If you absolutely must keep the bushing, cut the
bolt head and the threaded part, pull the a-arm and bore the remainder of the
bolt out. FYI, pounding the bolt likely won't work since the rubber bush
gives during the pounding, plus you risk bending the thin chassis mounting
tab. Good luck- J Deryke
