By this time, you all have likely figured out that spark plug brands, like
religion, political parties and types of whiskey are largely a matter of
personal choice, often influenced by your Dad or another family member. I
have had utter failures with AC-Delco, Motorcraft, Champion, Lodge and NGK.
But I know that these things are cranked out automatically by the billions
and tested by statistical sampling. This means that a few bummers WILL go
through, and Murphy's sons will get 'em. I once bought a twin cylinder
motorcycle that, on a test ride, only fired on one cylinder. I felt the head
while riding around the block and one side was stone cold. I stopped and
looked, and there were brand-new plugs in the engine. I got it at a really
good price since the owner had obviously slung new plugs in there and it
still ran sick so he thought it was wasted. Got home, replaced the new plugs
AND plug wires with some old ones I had around, and rode that puppy for 6
years without any further troubles.... J DeRyke
