| Subject: | Any Experience With Tunnel Ram Based EFI? |
| Date: | Tue, 3 Oct 2000 20:30:30 -0400 |
I've seen several tunnel ram manifolds that have nozzels mounted directly above the ports, and a long plenum on top with a throttle body at one end.
Can anyone report on how well this works? Most of the shops (non-Pantera)that work on EFI seem to prefer just mounting a 4 throat throttle body on a 4 barrel manifold. Has anyone tried both and made a comparison?
The Tunnel ram looks great, but does it really work any better? In may application I want serious power between 3000 and 6000, so if the tunnel ram makes more HP, but only at 7000 or 8000, it's not worth much to me. And, does the tunnel ram hurt you at lower engine speeds, like 1800 RPM. I'm hoping that a decent sequential DFI control system will save the low end.
