of today's First Free Practice session for the Grand Prix of Japan is just

11:00:55: As the lights go green its R.Zonta first on track followed by 6
other cars
11:01:25: D.Coulthard is on track
11:02:33: 11 cars on track as R.Zonta pits at the end of his single pit to
pit lap
11:03:13: The first 6 are back in the pits, 10 more are on track
11:03:29: D.Coulthard is back in the pits, M.Hakkinen is on track
11:04:00: R.Barrichello is on track, so far 19 cars have been out
11:04:42: No one has completed a fast lap yet, the best S2 is D.Coulthard at

the Suzuka circuit is starting to fade. Earlier it was sunny but now the
clouds are moving in. The air is at 24C and the track surface 26C, it was
31C 1 hour ago! The second 60 minute part of today's Free Practice session
for the Grand Prix of Japan is just starting:
13:01:05: Once again R.Zonta is first on track followed this time by
J.Trulli and J.Button
13:01:46: M.Hakkinen and D.Coulthard are on track
13:02:25: There are 10 cars on track
13:03:15: 14 cars on track
13:04:14: M.Schumacher is on track
13:04:49: M.Hakkinen sets the best S2 at 43.885s
13:05:30: D.Coulthard S2 is 44.301s, M.Hakkinen completes at 1m
40.522s-15L - no improvement
13:06:35: 17 cars on track, all the top 8 except R.Barrichello, D.Coulthard
improves his S1 to 33.881s, M.Schumacher takes the best S1 at 33.287s
