Hello friends
I made the trip up to Carlton Oregon to see #2772 this weekend. My brother
in law is still working 50 hour weeks at his machine shop ,but he has
started working on my car again when he gets home. He is working on the
passenger compartment. I have noticed in some panteras that the left side of
the drivers helmet hits the cage. We are trying to avoid this. We found that
by removing the trim above the doors that there is at least an extra inch to
be gained over the kit roll bars. The next trick will be running the forward
bars through the dash to the floor. This will free up valuable toe space for
getting in and out of the car.
Next we will be doing the bars that go through the rear GLASS to the engine
compartment. Plexi glass sucks for street cars. I now have two ways to get
the rear glass with U cutouts in the top. There is a custom glass shop that
can make a rear window with U's. It may also be possible to take stock glass
to a company that does high pressure water cutting.
I hope to have time to finish the ZF this week and have the car rolling in a
month.
Take care,
Nolan
