| Subject: | HELP engine questions..! |
| Date: | Sun, 5 Nov 2000 21:42:04 -0500 |
Hi all,
Well today I remove the heads from my 351C. Now I have some questions.
1. I have open chamber heads. What are the CC of the heads? I was told this
is a 73 engine.
2. I know the there are forged pistons in the engine (i was told). On top of
the pistons there are some numbers (2298P 0.30 front-->). Can anyone tell me
what type/make of pistons I have? I call around but so far no luck. It is a
flat top piston with two valve reliefs. There is also a nickel size relief
in the center of the piston (looks like casting mark).
3. What are you running for cam lift / duration?
3a. Cam mechanical, hydraulic, roller, etc..?
4. I'm looking for 450 to 500 hp. I will remove the engine to rebuild it to
make this HP, but right now this engine has 4,576 miles on it.
5. What is a safe cam lift 550, 575, 600, etc. with a flat top piston?
OK thank for the help. By the way question 2 holds the key to what I will do
with this engine..! :)
Mark
