All,

I managed to get away from both work and home on Sunday (yesterday) to go to
the San Diego Grand Prix. I had bought the tickets the year before or such
before they had cancelled. Anyway met various Pantera guys there from SDP.
We had several guys drive their cars and park in the club corral. We had
good seats in a grandstand behind a real tight corner after a long run. We
saw MANY cars spin out, crash into the walls, crash into each other and some
great racing. Some of the best scenes must have been right in our area.
My favorite was the Trans Am race. Brian Simo was kicking butt most of the
race, but towards the end his car was smoking out the exhaust and he dropped
back. Even so he apparently won the championship so he celebrated by coming
through our corner and doing some serious burn outs, spins, and engine
revving to the moon. Kind of a crowd pleaser show boat, and celebration for
his championship I guess. It was pretty impressive. The crowd stood to its
feet and cheered louder than the cars. It was pretty cool.

Anyway anyone that makes it to San Diego for next years event should try and
link up with San Diego Pantera group. We usually try to get seats in same
area for more close club presence. I'm hoping to catch some of this race
on Speedvision soon. Anyone with info on airing time I appreciate the
sharing of the info. Would like to see more of the track and races.
Thanks. Dan Miller.
