Donut Derelicts were started here in California by the Southern California
Timing Association (SCTA) Bonneville/ElMirage go fast guys in Huntington
Beach something like 35-40 years ago....some of the original guys in the
group are now in they're 70-80's and dying off but as they pass on they have
also passed on the torch to guys like us in big and small car clubs and the
every Saturday event is now so popular that all 200+ parking places in the
strip mall are GONE by 7AM....its all very informal...guys just show up and
park they're cars at O'dark early hours to bench race and hang together and
all start leaving like 8:30...the donuts, decals and t-shirts are extra! <g>
