Just finished pulling the engine/transaxle out of my 71. My intentions are to 
do patch panels on both sides, clean up and paint the engine bay, re-wire 
from the firewall back, disassemble the engine for minor tweaking(doesn't 
need much) re-paint the block, replace all accessories(starter, alternator, 
water pump, timing chain), have ZF rebuilt/polished, new clutch, gas tank 
work, etc, etc. 

I've been driving the beast since the early 90's and have owned it since 86. 
Took it apart pretty quickly after I bought it. Didn't do much with the 
engine though as it was a killer already with lots-o-mods. Wife won't ride in 
it but has veto power over my time. Go figure. Have sofa, frig, tv, phone, 
computer, lazy boy etc in bunker/garage. May lock myself in for days/months 
at a time. Progress reports to follow.
