All,

For what it's worth, the Ford raceing engine responds better to more 
scavanging. All of our our Fords have a 5 stage pump. One of the suction 
stages goes into the valley. We also run the larger (Wider) size stage. That 
alone is worth about 15 HP. For Sportsman, or limited race engines, Morosso 
makes an external pump that works very well. It takes the oil pump out of the 
engine, but you still have a deep pan to contain the oil, but it does stop 
the oil starvation in the corners. That would work very well on a Pantera.
