FINALLY!!!!
Last nite I got a wild hare outta my butt and went and installed my pistons
into my block....
Question: I'm gonna run a Comp Cams 270H grind which has the 4 degrees
advance already built into it. Can I advance the cam timing an additional
4 degrees using the multi keyed crank gear (triangle mark position I
believe) to bring my torque curve down a smidge into the street area of
this cam?????
Specs sez 5800 or so for top RPM of curve....
I really liked the cam in my Cougar 351W when I had it advanced (by
mistake) a WHOLE tooth on the chain.... It made for GREAT stoplite power
and even good mileage.... but ran out of poop at 4500 or so... Now with it
correctly installed (and advanced 4 degrees) I have gobs of top end, but my
low end sucks.... to drive everyday anyway.....
Regards,
Steve
