You can completely discard the valve; except for racing, you probably won't
need one.

special tools am I going to need to perform the job. >
Don't concern yourself with threads sizes etc. Snap-On and K & E make Euro
bubble-flair tool sthat will let you use the collection of stock fittings
you'll have left over from discarding the stock proportioning valve and also
the shuttle valve under the power brake booster. Just be sure that the front
& rear circuits remain totally separated or you'll be throwing away a safety
feature: independent frt & rear brakes. FYI, the stock tubing is metric &
won't fit well in SAE double-flairing tools, and the larger Euro female
fittings are very close to SAE 5/16-18 thread and in fact will accept AN
fittings of that thread size, leak-free. But unless you have experience in
this sort of stuff, be very careful with any backyard brake mods- sudden
failure at speed is very serious! Might pay to have a local expert check it
out or even do the job. Check the archives; this has been discussed &
articles published innumerable times in the last 20 years. Good luck- J deRyke
