Subject:Another Texas Track Event (update #1)
Date: Thu, 4 Jan 2001 09:36:17 -0500

A quick update to add some people I forgot and to clarify date and hotel.

We'll try to book the Manor House (which is usually where everyone
stays) in College Station, but we need to know soon to book a block
of rooms.

'The Driver's Edge' has a weekend booked (February 24-25) at Texas
World Speedway and John 'spinmeister' Taphorn is real eager to get
his freshly dyno
tuned monster stroker back out on the track and try to prove he's
really got more ooomfff than I do... I guess I shouldn't let him
down, eh? ;-)

The organizers say they'll allow us to line up all the Panteras on
the front straight for pictures and they are excited that Panteras
are thinking about coming.

I figure the following might be game for joining in...

John Taphorn (who can claim he has 450HP and oodles of low-end torque now)
Kirby Schrader (who'll try to keep John honest about it all...)
Gray Gregory (with two cars to choose from, he has to come! ;-) )
Tom Upton (a chance to blow another engine before his next vintage race!)
Steve Carvajal (long time, no hear! You still out there, Steve?)
Dennis Coffman (said he'd come the next time!)
Dennis Antenucci (always trying to find some excuse to come to Texas)
Jack Tunnell (got rid of the EFI yet, Jack?)
Keith Verges (if he's recovered from the 2nd annual TT)
John Haas (who we haven't seen in so long that he _has_ to come!)
Don Franck (Kinda' like Haas... can't hardly remember the last time...)
Fred Hall (first person to say he'll be there officially!)
Chuck Engles (we need to see you finish both days, Chuck! ;-) )
David Bell (with new engine and superbly honed driving skills from last
                 time!)

And this is a good motivator for those guys in Austin...
Bill Bitner (with his monster Windsor)
Richard Greenblum (with his new brakes????)
Rob McMullen (with the other monster Windsor we've never seen on the track)
William King (those Webers _must_ be tuned to perfection by now!)

Dylan Schrader (missed last time at the Ranch with a bad clutch in his Cobra)
Dennis Quella (maybe, I have to call him and see)
Rob West (who's been driving his newly restored Pantera some time now)
Alan Brown (we just might get him and his Cobra out this time)
Jim Narum (the newly elected Space City Panteras President)
David Auer (we haven't seen him in ages...)
Cliff Brookshire (new Pantera owner from near Beaumont who will be attending
with family but without car. He's still putting it together!)

How many out there are interested?

Rumor has it that I was elected this year's Space City Panteras' VP,
so I'm supposed to be the event coordinator. I'd better get off my
butt and organize something! And if I can't get my car ready in time,
maybe I can convince the
GT5S owner to let me break it in good for him!!! :-))))

Cost for the weekend is $275 with the price going up to $300 after
January 27th.

Get back to me soon! More info on request!

Thanks,

Kirby
