Subject:fuel cell

I spoke to one of the guys at fuelsafe a few months ago about a cell
specifically for the pantera. Basically, he said they can build
anything, and he made it seem like it would be reasonable (well under
$1000, including inlet hose and fuel gauge sender).
If I couldn't draw a good enough picture, I could send the old tank and
he would mock up a replacement cell. It sounds good to me, and some time
in the near future, both my father and I are going to get a cell for our
cars (73L and 74 GTS). We might just design a simpler, but smaller cell
to fit in the stock location.
I would like the filler to exit through the door behind the window, but
the old man wants to exit in a cap under the deck lid (like on the early
cars, I think).
In any case, if anyone is interested, let me know. These older cars were
not designed with the safety measures of modern autos, and the stock fuel
tank sitting next to the headers, engine, and driver just can't be that
safe. If anyone saw those silly rear collision videos of older Mustangs
(where the interior is completely torched), you'll appreciate what I'm
getting at.

Justin Greisberg (yes, still hiding behind my wife's email address - no
need for any more skirt jokes!)
