Subject:3rd annual Space City Panteras Texas Track Event (update #3)
Date: Fri, 5 Jan 2001 21:45:39 -0500

I've gotten a lot of feedback from various folks, so it's update time.

'The Driver's Edge' has a 'high speed driver's education course'
weekend booked (February 24-25) at Texas World Speedway. We are
getting Panteras together to attend this event.
Cost for the weekend is $275 with the price going up to $300 after
January 27th.
Also, if we get enough confirmations early enough, free covered
paddocks for the Panteras are available. But we need to know how many
plan to attend with their cars (those racecar type dudes get first
pick!).

The organizers say they'll allow us to line up all the Panteras on
the front straight for pictures and they are excited that Panteras
are coming. The picture opportunity is also for those who don't run
on the track!

We're checking on a group discount, but assuming we can't (I'll let
you know as soon as I know), then for sign up forms and information,
go to
  http://www.the-drivers-edge.com
and download their forms for technical inspection and registration.

Accommodation will be at the Manor House Hotel (which is usually where everyone
stays) in College Station (1-800-231-4100)

Confirmed coming with their cars and running on the track

John Taphorn Pantera (claims he has 450HP and oodles of low-end torque now)
Kirby Schrader Pantera (who'll try to keep John honest about it all...)
Gray Gregory Pantera x 2 (and his Dad's Ferrari???)
Fred Hall Pantera (the Chiquita Pantera!)
Keith Verges Viper (Pantera is waiting on parts)
Dylan Schrader '97 Cobra (the clutch is fixed)
David Bell Pantera (new engine and superbly honed driving skills)
Richard Greenblum Pantera (says he'll bring as many Austin guys as he can)
Chuck Engles Pantera (free towing offered if he breaks ;-))) )
Jack Tunnell Pantera (got rid of the EFI yet, Jack?)
Dennis Jones	Pantera (he's close to finishing it!!!)

Will come if:
Tom Upton Pantera (needs and engine from Dennis Quella)
Bob Howard Pantera (from Wichita. needs brakes fixed by Dennis Quella)
Nick Sakulenski Pantera (from McAllen & if he can get it back
together in time!)

Others pending for the track:
Steve Carvajal Pantera (long time, no hear! You still out there, Steve?)
Dennis Coffman Pantera (said he'd come the next time!)
John Haas Pantera (who we haven't seen in so long that he _has_ to come!)
Don Franck Pantera (Kinda' like Haas... can't remember the last time...)

Coming with car, but no track driving:
Bill Borrello Pantera
Jim Narum Pantera (track if he can get his brake lines fixed in time)

Coming without cars:
Dennis Antenucci (always trying to find some excuse to come to Texas and borrow
a car to run on the track)
Cliff Brookshire (new Pantera owner from Beaumont attending with family)

Anymore Dallas/Ft. Worth guys?
Tom Groves
Scott Black

And this is a good motivator for those guys in Austin...
Bill Bitner Pantera (with his monster Windsor)
Rob McMullen Pantera (with the other monster Windsor we've never seen yet)
William King (those Webers _must_ be tuned to perfection by now!)

Dennis Quella Pantera (waiting for him to let me know)
Rob West Pantera (driving his newly restored Pantera some time now)
Alan Brown Pantera (we just might get him and his Cobra out this time)
David Auer Pantera (we haven't seen him in ages...)

How many out there are interested?

Rumor has it that I was elected this year's Space City Panteras' VP,
so I'm supposed to be the event coordinator. I'd better get off my
butt and organize something! And if I can't get my car ready in time,
maybe I can convince the GT5S owner to let me break it in good for
him!!! :-)

Get back to me soon! More info on request!

Thanks,

Kirby
