They are also rather restrictive.
However, one massive advantage they have over tube headers is that they are
QUIET. Being cast, they are extremely heavy; this weight does an excellent
job of damping the sound and radically reduces that annoying 2000 rpm BOOM in
the cabin.
If, in fact, your manifolds are truly sound, then coating them will probably
keep them that way forever, and if you don't mind the slight performance
sacrifice associated with running them, then you go boy! :>)
