>>>Originally, there was zero German on the car. The stock Italian window
switches stopped becoming available years ago, but an almost identical Bosch
unit could be had, with far superior quality, so the factory opted for it.
The headlight and window motors and gearboxes are French, made by Ducillier
and supposedly common to the Citroen. '80's Panteras also had Ducillier
window switches.
The various other switches in the car, to include the turn signal/horn
switch, are all British. The rocker switches specifically are Lucas; I don't
know about the turn signal switch but suspect it's Lucas also.
I believe most of the relays on the original cars were Italian; I know the
horn relay is Fiamm (as are the horns.)
Later cars were infused (HAH!) with Ford electrics; Motorcraft replaced Lucas
in key places.
I've heard repeatedly that the entire wiring harness was Lucas, but I have
never seen anything substantive to support this contention, and I happen to
believe it's home-brewed Italian in origin....
