HP Series carbs are basically "flowed" versions of the basic Holley
carbs. By paying attention to the flow obstructions, you can increase
the CFM rating without increasing the cross-sectional area. The result
is a carb that flows more without giving up atomization at lower RPM's.
Unfortunately, the first thing done is to mill the choke tower off. If you
can do without a choke, they are probably worth it. Otherwise, you're
probably better off sending a carb with an intact choke tower off to C&S
or other tuner to be modified. Some of the Demon line of carbs have
choke towers and may be worth looking into but I haven't heard enough
feedback from actual users to form any opinion on them yet.
