According to the Wilwood catalog I have, there are eight categories. They
list part numbers as 15D - XXXXX, 15B - XXXXX and 15C - XXXXX for three of
their models for various uses. They also list five other pads - three of
which they assign a color. Tan is the "Cold Stopper" and made for low temp
range for quick stopping like drag racers, street rods, and moderate dirt
applications. They are noted as being very low makers of dust - and the ones
Wilwood recommended I use on my Pantera. Then there is green for "Gator Pads"
- for low and medium heat applications like short track racing. There is
purple for "Aluminum Rotor Pads." "PFC Carbon Metallic" high temp does not
give a color and last is "Specialty Pad Applications" which does not list a
color. I know this doesn't answer all you asked - their phone number is
805-388-1188. ruffscruff (aka fran dicarlo - sold 03766 7/1/00, but still
love it)
