Much as I always enjoy reading Mike's prose, this story, much
truncated, is also available on the De Tomaso web site (in English,
but without those Drewsian touches we know and love).

However (and this may be where the confusion began) they claim that
the symbol does not stand for a T since it was from his Mother's
estancia (Ceballos family), and is purely an identification mark with
no symbolic, alphabetic or iconographic meaning.
