Hi Roger:
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you put any of the parts you mentioned as part
of the powdercoating process. I have remove the ball joints from all
suspension pieces and pulled ALL BUSHINGS and had blasted to bare metal (or
have chem stripped) down to parade rest. Just metal (no rubber, plastic, or
other items) should be shoved into the oven. You're asking for trouble if you
do (not to mentioned a ticked off wife) for having burning rubber occur at
400-450 F.
Additionally, Jack Deryke once quipped to me that there were some owners who
have had their susp. arms powdercoated WITH bushings. I take it wasn't a
pretty sight after the fact.
