Thanks GPS. I will accept all the input I can get. We are pretty close in
configuration. The 24' is an interior measurement and then they stick a
tapered nose on the trailer adding another 2'-3"(std equip). The spare tire
is stored in this additional space and this is where I will mount a winch. I
was looking at a plywood floor because of less slipping and you can nail a
stop if needed (what do you think about a plywood floor?). It still has
metal tiedowns built into the floor frame for securing the car. Trailer
weight is about 1,000 lbs less since it is built out of aluminum making for
an easier pull. So far I am leaning toward the Featherlite, but I want to
check out all leads.
If anybody has a recommendation, let me know. I only want to do this once.
Thanks,

<< Hello Jack,
I am also looking at trailers. Did you look at the Featherlite Trailers? A
24' Featherlite is nearly a 1,000 lbs lighter than a 24' Haulmark and the 24'
is an interior measurement. That makes a big difference for me. I don't
know what the prices are for Haulmark. Email directly if you would like to
talk prices (I do have Featherlite prices) and I have NO connection with
Featherlite. Just looking for the right trailer. If not I will call
Haulmark tomorrow.
Thanks,

Mike,
I have a Featherlight 24' I believe 6210 trailer with a V-nose. I also added
bigger doors, a winch and the bumper looking thing on the back door along
with ramps. I also did something different, at least to Featherlight, I put
16" tires on the trailer. Why? I was always blowing tires (maybe they were
Firestone derivitives!) and aI could not find an "E" load rated tire on the
road. You can go in Costco and find an "E" rated 16" tire!
I got the flat aluminum floor because the diamond plate gets real slippery
when wet. I will probably coat the floor with the rubbery stuff they use on
truck beds. I have not seen that done before, but may give it a try.
Addidng the V-nose almost makes it a 28' trailer. I would not do that again,
but would build a 28' box. Live and learn!!
You won't regret getting an enclosed trailer. It is the only way to go!
Cheers,
