This reminds me about something I've been meening to mention. A couple
of months ago while installing my booster I checked the checkvalve. It's
part of the banjo fitting that attaches the hose to the booster body.
Mine was just powder inside: air flows freely in either direction. What
do you expect, it's a 30 year old piece of Italian rubber! My guess is
that most are shot.
This is a SAFETY ISSUE, and possibly why John Parsons almost ate it at
last years Speed Trials. The way to check it is to cut off your engine
(while parked!) and wait a bit (15 sec?). The test the brakes. You
should get at least a few strokes before all the vacuume is gone. If
not, you need a new valve.
