Yes, this has to be it. Williamsburg is about 30 min. from Virginia Beach. I
didn't say I would pass on the car. I looks great to the untrained eye, my eye.
But it dose have some things that need to be worked on. Like I said we couldn't
drive it because of the U-joints. This car may have just been sitting in his
garage, not looked after much, if at all. I don't think the car needs
"restoration" as much as repairs, U-joints, A/C, check the clutch. I didn't
see any rust other than on the smog pipes. The interior looked great. The
history on the car is a bit funky, but the car is what it is today. This is not
a parts car or junck. The owner is a Vet, so you were close. I'm sure there
is something else, but we couldn't drive it.

Ned,

Is this the white GT5-S that has been for sale for years near Virginia
Beach. I think a doctor owns it and it's been in Hemmings off and on for a
long time. I never went to see it, but at one time I had a slight interest
in it.

Why would you pass on the car? The value seems about right if it's in
decent condition. Does the car look beat? Would it need restoration like
so many other GT5-S cars that I've seen?

Do you think it was just typical poor DeTomaso quality, or were there other
things to worry about?

I'd appreciate any insight you may have if this is the white car near

Virginia Beach.

Thanks,

Andy
