If the vibration is a function of SPEED and not engine RPM, then it's not in
the engine. If you can swap to a different set of wheels/tires and the
vibration doesn't go away, that confirms that it's between the gearbox and
the wheels. I suppose it could be something wacky like a broken shock
absorber or something, but I'd look to the driveshaft first.
Mike (chased a vibration in the Mustang for a year until I figured out it was
an intermittant ignition miss....)
