I'm not really an 'expert cam guy' but I also have a more aggressive Crane
cam (H-288-2) which seems just about right for around town drivability but
good high rpm horsepower (pulls above 6,000 with a 750 Holley and Performer
intake on a mostly stockish build engine). It has a killer idle sound
coming from my big-bore exhaust. The cam specs are below:
Lift: 0.528(I), 0.536(E)
Duration at 0.05 w/ 1.73 rockers: 226(I), 230(E)
I'd vote to go more aggressive than the cam you mentioned.
