I'd heard of this problem and was all ready with my belt sander to take
them down. To my surprise, there was at least 1/2" clearance! Actually,
I shouldn't have been surprised as earlier when I'd finally gotten the
1/2 shafts installed I'd noticed there was plenty of clearance with the
exhaust pipe where there had always been an interference fit before with
the suspension hanging. My conclusion, the Hall/Alden shocks are a bit
shorter and don't let the suspension down as far. So there must be less
travel. Not to worry though, the springs are about 50% stiffer (750 lbs/in).
