Subject:Rusted rocker panel cleaned and POR'd
Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2001 08:12:48 -0400

All:
Yesterday, I thought I'd nip that small rusted area in the bud. Bought
another quart of POR-15 from my local supplier. Decided that trying to
rinse and grab whatever packed earth was left at the bottom of the
rocker wasn't cutting it so I went to my closet, took out one of the
many oodles of hangers I had hangin' around, cut it up and bent one of
the ends to a 90 degree angle and proceeded to scrape out the remains of
whatever was left. Rocks, packed dirt, rust, and other garbage came out.
After that, I sprayed in some of that Coast Degreaser (the purple stuff)
and rinsed some more. After a while, I stuck my finger in the area to
ensure no residue was left. Satisfied that there was none, I sprayed in
the Metal Prep, let dry with a heat gun, and loaded up my detail gun
with POR. The POR is likely dry by the time you read this so that means
I'll doing some welding ops tonight in preparation for tomorrows prime
and sand job

(DID YOU HEAR THAT STEVE? I SAID I'M SANDING, DAMMIT!!!! ;^)
