| Subject: | auctioned pantera in autoweek |

hi all,
gee, i *hope* this is a harbinger for future pantera prices, but i don' tink
so - i tink that one for $41k was an aberration.
my pantera, while nowhere near as nice as that one, is far from yunk, &
could be made as nice as the auctioned car for less than $15k, even if yure
a checkbook mechanic. not wanting a concours car, but a driver, i had
budgeted ~$8k-$10k - repair the rockers (the car is structurally sound),
install the boss quench heads/roller rockers/cam, minor suspension/brake
upgrades.
as it is now, the car is really quite a decent driver, strong, tight engine,
nice-looking, w/the exception of the minor rocker "problem", & this is
noticeable only upon close inspection. due to a looming balloon-payment, i
adwertized the car for $23k, which wood include the engine goodies & a few
other assorted miscellaneous items. i received wery little interest. as it
is, i tink isle be able to hold onto the car :>) but, i tink that black car
auctioned for $41k was *not* the great buy that mr. martin said it was...
one persons' opinion,

ps - fred terry, you say my car up-close - be frank, is it not as i
described?
