Doug,
Establishing Pantera prices is a hard thing to do because we all see
different things when vewing a car. I evaluate a car based on the
mechanical abilities I have developed from years of hands on experience
ignoreing the polish and glitter I know can cover a lot of trouble.
Others less able mechanically will develop a totally different view of
the same car based, perhaps, on the cosmetic appearence the car
presents.
Having spent many years restoring cars, I can say that it is easy to
put on a quick paint job to cover severe body problems. A little more
work with Armorall and a few cans of Krylon can make any car look great.
A few weeks ago I went with some friends to look at Doug's car. Doug is
honest in his claims and makes no attempt to hide anything. Someone
before Doug took some time to repair a lot of rust damage and did a good
job. To be honest, his car is not a show winner but Doug makes no claims
that it is. There have been no attempts to fix problems with Krylon
either and I feel what you see will be what you get.
If you are looking for a good driver you should talk to Doug and take a
look at his car and form your own opinions. I've seen a lot worse
offered at much higher prices.
