The drip molding simply lays against a raised edge of the roof and is held in
with pop-rivits in the upper door area. A bead of some type of caulking was
on my car between the seam & roof. The roof panel is more-or-less edge-welded
all along both sides and curled under front & back. On some cars, the side
welds aren't the best and/or the drip molding doesn't fit up well to the
seam. I drilled out the pop rivits & removed the moldings before painting,
rather than trying to mask off the whole area. Then I used sheet metal screws
in the original holes to reattach the moldings. You can do this and slightly
reposition/recontour the moldings at the same time, for a better fit. Cheers-
