The only "tunnel port" (other than the427 that I know of) was the 302 that was
used in 67-68 trans am series where I heard that Ford got pommeled. Those
heads couldn' maintain a prope fuel air mix (because of the huge ports) until
the revs came up past 7 grand. By that time, the motors were blowing up
because they couldn't stand the constant 7000 rpm pounding. That's when the
Cleveland heads started show up (about 68) and the rest is history. As far as
these heads are concerned, they look like a strange mix of the old Chevy
"ram's horn" exhaust and the LS1 heads. Cal #2428.
