I remember Ford went thru a series of oddball heads for Boss 302 engines. 
They were all experimental castings and not many were made of any single 
type. It was eventually found that the pushrod tunnels didn't improve airflow 
over the std Boss head (the problem is the shape of the exhaust port being 
radically kinked to miss std Ford frame rails).  The same thing happened to 
DeTomaso's SOHC 351 Cleveland heads- no improvement and lots more cost & 
complication. What they all are is collectors items, not secret 
power-producers. Doug can probably give you chapter & verse but thats
