 You can use an ordinary carbide blade and a table saw or handheld
circular saw.  That's how I cut 1/2" aluminum plate in the shop.

 The zigzag cuts on that widened intake Mag Dog had were done by a
drunken babboon with a band saw, or so it would appear.
