Looks like I forgot to send this, found it in my drafts file:
Okay, I don't know Bill Mason from Nick Mason from Mason Dixon from Mason
Jars, but you're putting one guy's opinion against the collective experience
of the auto manufacturing industry at large building million of cars each
year. If was good for the car to have the radiator fans run all the time,
that's what they'd do. Unless you believe there is some sort of conspiracy
afoot, which I do not.
The $100 vs. one cent challenge was just a smart ass way to make this point,
that at least regarding engineering stuff, after a hundred years or so of
car production, the status quo is there for some good reason.
Lastly I've had to repair two of these motors that wore out simply from too
many rotations. Maybe someone out there has one that burned up from too
many stops/starts, but I haven't seen it. Nor would I expect a simple
permanent magnet, brush commutated motor to have that susceptibility.
