Late '74s and up had a real fresh-air vent built in. The later heater 
controls incorporated a 2-1/2- 3" dia open-able fresh air flex-hose assembly 
(separate from the heater/AC box) that snaked around behind the glove box and 
connected to a hole thru into the rt side cowl opening. Not too sure how 
involved the fitment of the late box is, but several people have successfully 
converted, as the late dash sort of requires the late heater/AC box. But I 
think you need the late heater controls, too. My 2¢- J deRyke
